Hypnotherapy supports you to make positive change in your life (sometimes even to change your life) and to regain calm and self-control over your health, habits and emotions.
With a clinic on Edgware Rd, minutes from the tube, Bakerloo, Circle and District lines, I am accessible for Hypnotherapy north London and Hypnotherapy in central London.
The beauty of Hypnotherapy is that it can find the hidden truth behind our patterns of behaviour and emotions and so cut to the root of a problem without the need for a lengthy talking process. Our unconscious mind always holds the key to our patterns. What is Hypnotherapy?Hypnotherapy is a communication with your unconscious mind, accessed within a deep state of relaxation. I will often use the power of your own imagination, using a wide range of techniques, from story-telling, metaphor or symbolism (when I think them relevant) to the use of direct suggestions for change. Analytical techniques may also be employed if necessary to uncover problems from the past or therapy may concentrate more on your current life and the presenting problems. It is certainly helpful if you are personally motivated to change, but belief in the possibility that things can change for you can be a sufficient starting point.
What is my Unconscious Mind? Our Unconscious Mind controls our immune system, hormonal balance, heart rate, breathing, organ function, digestion, muscle tone – as well as holding the knowledge of everything we have ever thought or encountered. It protects and guides us, through dreams, patterns and symptoms. Learning to understand and to communicate with our Unconscious is to move into a deeper relationship with ourselves.
Will I lose control?People are sometimes concerned that they will
lose control in hypnosis. However, the general consensus clearly shows that regardless of how deeply people may go in hypnosis and however passive they may appear to be, they actually remain in full control of the situation. You are fully able to talk if you wish to (or not, as the case may be) and you can stand up and leave the room at any time. It is likely that the notion of a loss of control stems from most people’s misconception of stage hypnosis, wherein participants are
seemingly made to perform all manner of (usually foolish) acts! In fact, a hypnotised person
cannot be made to do anything against their usual ethical or moral judgement or religious belief - in short, hypnosis cannot
make you act against your own will. Hypnotherapy does not engage in any attempts to control another. Its focus is the exactly the opposite - i.e. that of empowering your will, your confidence and your intuition.
