About Simon Egerton
I encountered Craniosacral Therapy when my first son was just two days old. He had endured a difficult ventouse birth and was distressed and unable to feed. As a new parent, I was very frightened. I took him to a Craniosacral Therapist and was astonished to see my baby’s distress disappear almost instantly. At the time, I didn’t understand how this was possible but my interest in Craniosacral Therapy was born.
Some time later, I became seriously ill and lost my speech and my mobility. I spent two years dependant and in a wheelchair. Conventional Western medicine had no answers for my condition and so began a very lonely and frightening time in my life. Desperate to get better, I sought help from various holistic health practitioners and began to study many forms of natural healing for myself. As my health began to improve, I knew that I had found my vocation.
I went on to train at the Craniosacral Therapy in Education Trust, the European College of Hypnotherapy, and the Karuna Institute.
Karuna means compassion in Sanskrit. Compassion underpins this approach to health-care. Holistic health is a life-long study and I continue to study with teachers who are recognised as leaders in their field. Above all, Health&Highlife is about helping people to harness the possibilities of healing that are available to them - naturally.
I came to natural health after a successful career in theatre and music. I coached singers at the Royal Opera House and Opera North and as an actor, work included seasons with the English Shakespeare Company and in the West End. I also worked as an award-winning Music Director in theatres all over the country and continue to teach singing and to run voice workshops for anyone interested in gaining confidence with their voice and communication skills, whether spoken or sung. However, over the years, I have directed this work increasingly to the healing potential of the voice.
